The Cable Light is the exclusive lamp designed by the designer Matteo Ragni and created by Creative Cables. Inspired by the Skyway Monte Bianco cable car, it transforms the iconic cable into a modern luminous work of art and a contemporary furnishing. A true design object that celebrates the mountains and the Italian-made engineering feat, characterized by our iconic components and textile cables.
The Cable Light is part of a series of objects telling the story of 'excellence at high altitudes while respecting nature. Skyway Monte Bianco is not just a cable car to reach 3,466 meters. It's an idea: to bring man closer to the mountain and the sky, broaden horizons and cross borders,' says Matteo Ragni, winner of the Compasso d'Oro in 2001, about his works.
In particular, he explains that this object consists of 'a bulb with generous shapes embraced by a basket formed of 8 fabric-covered arms, reminiscent of the iconic cable car structure that allows everyone to take panoramic ascents and acrobatic descents on snowy slopes'. In detail, 'the upper handle, reminiscent of the cable car carriage, thanks to the terminal's inclination, becomes a useful hook for hanging the bulb on cables, branches, or simply for holding it comfortably in your hands. A solid base in turned wood ensures stability and a pleasant touch'.
